Fast Facts: 
  • Learnthings was established in 1999 by the Guardian Media Group and was bought by the Sasani Media Group in 2005.
  • Collaborated with AMD to initiate NEPAD e-School learning labs in three African countries: Uganda, Mali and Burkina Faso
  • Launched the first three NEPAD e-Schools in Uganda in collaboration with AMD and other consortia members in 2006.

Learnthings and AMD
Learnthings has provided the educational content for the devices deployed by AMD and other 50x15 partners throughout Africa. They have contributed to NEPAD e-Schools 50x15 Learning Labs in Uganda, Mali, Gabon and Burkina Faso and have donated content for Nedbank projects in South Africa. Learnthings continues to work with AMD to develop 50x15 Learning Labs across the continent of Africa.

Learnthings Mission
The mission of Learnthings is to empower and engage through digital content and training.

Learnthings specializes in the production and licensing of interactive e-learning curriculum materials and provides training related to the effective usage of these materials.

Learnthings offers:

  • a dynamic bank of interactive curriculum materials
  • training for ministries and teachers on the integration of ICT into teaching and learning
  • e-learning production and consultancy

Content
The Learnthings content bank contains materials for ages 4 to 18 years, across a range of subjects and curricula.
