Welcome to the 50x15 Foundation Website!

Why donate to 50x15 Foundation?

Your donations help us to fulfill our mission of delivering the power of digital inclusion to people that have not had access to affordable Internet and computing capabilities. Enhancing computer skills and enabling access to the Internet is a crucial step in empowering people who have historically been excluded, such as populations in rural areas, women facing social barriers and students with disabilities. Digital inclusion creates a sense of global community, visibility and understanding that has the potential to transforms lives and livelihoods across the globe by offering such “life services” as healthcare information, financial services, job hunting, education and communication with long-distance friends and family.

Please join us in fulfilling our promise by making a contribution of $15, $50, $500 or whatever you can afford to support the 50x15 Foundation.

Where does your money go?

Your money will go to the support of the following 50x15 digital inclusion ecosystem areas that are vital to delivering ICT (information communication technologies) for the first time:

Ecosystem Icon: Power Power - Communities may not have access to electricity through a power grid and may need alternative energy sources such as wind or solar power.

Ecosystem Icon: Connectivity Connectivity - Access to the Internet may not be feasible via broadband due to infrastructure instabilities. Wireless or satellite connectivity are alternative solutions.

Ecosystem Icon: Content Content - Once access to the Internet and computing devices is established, the appropriate local language content must be available.

Ecosystem Icon: Devices Devices - Servers, personal computers, laptops, thin clients, smart phones, and other tools people use to access the Internet.

Ecosystem Icon: Expertise Expertise/Training - The communities must be trained to maintain the ICT infrastructure to ensure it remains working well into the future.

Ecoysystem Icon: Financing Financing - Once the foundation has set up the infrastructure a local financing plan is put in place to ensure the sustainability of the project.

The 50x15 Foundation supports the maintenance and growth of local digital inclusion ecosystems as a catalyst for fostering entrepreneurship and stimulating business growth.

The 50x15 Foundation monitors and evaluates the impact of contributions and 50x15 programs/deployments in order to guarantee continued ecosystem support at a local level.
